Noah and the Ark Genesis 6:14-22

God commanded Noah and his family to take two of every animal onto the ark for protection against the flood. Even though Noah was 600 years old, he obeyed. God saved the people and the animals on the ark and promised never to cover the world in a flood again. The rainbow is the reminder of God’s promise.
God Releases the Israelites from Slavery and Delivers them through the Red Sea. Exodus 15:1-6

When the Israelites were trapped between the desert, the sea and the approaching Egyptian army, God made a way. The wind blew and there was a dry path through the Red Sea. Both Moses and his sister Miriam wrote songs to celebrate God’s powerful victory.
Jonah Tries to Escape, But God Catches Him in a Fish
The Book of Jonah

God instructed Jonah to preach to Jonah’s enemy in Nineveh. He would rather see them suffer without God than give them a chance to repent. Jonah tried to flee across the sea, but God brought him back in the belly of a fish (not a whale). Jonah eventually went to Nineveh and the people repented and had a relationship with God.
Jesus Walks on Water Mark 6:45-52

During a bad storm on the Sea of Galilee one night, Jesus walks on water faster than the disciples can row. They were terrified when they saw him. He told them not to be afraid. After he climbed into the boat, the wind ceased and the disciples were astounded.
Jesus Calms a Storm Luke 8:22-25
Jesus is in the boat on the Sea of Galilee with his disciples. They are rowing while he sleeps. A windstorm came down on the lake. Even the experienced fishermen were afraid. Jesus awoke and spoke sternly to the storm. The storm ceased that moment.
The Holy Spirit Washes Us Clean Titus 3:5
Like a never-ending fountain, God’s Spirit washes us clean because of his love for us, not our good deeds for him.

The theme for 2010 was Knights of the Lord's Table: Jesus King of Kings complete with a castle, drawbridge and dragon. Children learned about Kings and Queens of the Bible and how even though they were very much like us, God equipped them with the gifts and skills they needed to become great. We celebrated transformation when ulitmately Jesus as God's own son was the King of Kings as he gave himself for all of us and triumphed in resurrection.
